IPC-HERMES-9852

The Hermes standard(IPC-HERMES-9852) is an advanced M2M communication for board flow in SMT lines.

It enables seamless collaboration with technology partners as it is an open, non-proprietary and manufacturer-independent protocol based on TCP/IP. The flexible data structure enables a smooth exchange of all required data, such as board dimensions or board ID. The Hermes protocol also ensures tracking within the SMT lines without the need to read codes or board IDs on each machine.

With the full Hermes protocol solution included in our handling devices (board handling systems) with our A5 AHEAD controller, we offer the upgrade option with a“SMEMA-Hermes adapter” to integrate older devices or third-party machines with pure SMEMA interfaces including “Track&Trace” into a Hermes line.
